Danger Museum in Japan with AIT

A lounge night with Danger Museum’s directors.

A little bit of talking, some screenings, discussion and drinks in an
informal atmosphere, with artist collective Danger Museum.

The artist collective Danger Museum started its activities in London in 1998, and now consists of Miho Shimizu (Japan), Oyvind Renberg (Norway) and Tien Wei Woon (Singapore). Their recent works revolve around the art field itself and the relationships between artists, audiences and institutions in different cities. Projects are often developed over long-term research and local collaborations, channeled through exhibitions, publications and the web.

Danger Museum will present these projects and discuss their experiences of working internationally and dealing with local issues, in a behind the scenes AIT talk. Following the talk, a conversation with AIT’s own directors will follow to look at the similarities and differences between the two organisations, and how they relate to the idea of alternative space.

Miho and Oyvind stops by Tokyo after the show Peanut Circuit at the Vigeland Museum in Oslo, Norway, 2003 and most recently three-month residency at SSamziespace in Seoul, Korea. Both projects surveyed the local art scenes through interviews with players in the art world, mixed with other visual and textual elements in humorous installation environments.

The night will be round up with music and bar till 23:00. Danger Museum will be showing videos, slides and objects too.

This will be Danger Museum’s first time to speak about their activity in Japan, and they are looking forward to meet you.
