Hors d’œuvre – The Secondary Concern #2

One day event at tête
Schönhauser Allee 161A, Berlin
Peanuts sometimes feature in our works. We have a label called Peanut Circuit for multiples. We once made a giant textile peanut sofa and a textile poster of Goofy gaining superpowers by eating peanuts for a project about the artist and the art scene in Oslo. The term Peanut Circuit, as we relate to it, stems from Quentin Crisp´s idea of living off free snacks and drinks at social and cultural receptions. It seemed to fit well to revisit the peanut as a chocolate freebee for hungry Berlin artists in the Hors d’œuvre – The Secondary Concern #2 festival at tête.
About the Hors d’œuvre – The Secondary Concern #2: The participating artists will fill tête with hors dʼoeuvres and videos about food, playing with the sense of the word hors dʼoeuvre (“apart from the [main] work”): On the one hand, food and cooking is not the main medium of the participating artists, and, on the other hand, the selected video works use food as a medium to focus on social/political issues.
